What’s Inside the Course?
The video course is broken down into six modules:
Module 1: Your Bigger Story:
Here we talk about the “why”: Why do our stories matter? What kind of impact can they have on us and our readers? How is writing beneficial to us? Then, we’ll get practical: How to plan, map out, & create timelines to aid your writing.
Module 2: Making a Scene
Learn how to transform your scene and reflection into a finished, polished piece. Discover techniques for focusing, tightening, and editing your work. Additionally, explore how to discern and articulate your goals for your project.
Module 3: Your Deeper Story
In this important session, we take our discovered memories and learn how to make them come alive on the page through sensory-rich scenes. You’ll learn how to write a compelling scene, how to write dialogue, how to string scenes together, and how to structure your scene-making. No more dull or dry stories!
Module 4: Your Focused Story
Here is the secret to powerful stories: the three building blocks of story-making. Also, learn how to discover the Inner Story of your writing project. Learn how to peel back the layers and go deep, discovering wisdom and hope for both you and your readers. This is where the most growth happens!
Module 5: Your Compelling Story
Learn how to tie everything together through a cohesive narrative arc, and how to propel your reader from the beginning to the end. We’ll also discuss different types of memoir, and what makes the most sense for your project.
Module 6: Launching Your Work
Here you'll learn all about publishing. I'll discuss the pros and cons of various types of publishers, outline the publishing process, and provide links to editors. Finally, I'll send you off with a blessing and words of empowerment.
